AWS seems down!
It seems the most important of the Amazon’s webservices are down. EC2 (the Elastic Computing), S3 (storage) and SQS (the Queing service) are all reporting red on CloudStatus. Hope it comes up soon and i’m very curious about the cause.
Looks like the Ec2 outage is not legitimate, however the failures with SQS and S3 most definitely are.
The issue stems from ‘zombie’ launched EC2 processes. We launch thousands of instances to check the availability of EC2 deployment time, however sometimes they come up ‘zombie’ (an issue Amazon is aware of). This sometimes causes us to exceed our quota.

Thanks for the extra info. I saw some delay’s on companies using ec2 for processing (like animoto and vimeo) so i checked CS and it corresponded. It’s probably caused by the sqs and s3 issues.
