It will be a long process to redirect all the links, however I am sure it will be worth. 

PS. The comments on Java blocking the loading of all other codes has been handled by Google Chrome now :) but still true for other software, we will pay attention to it. Thanks again!</description>

Unfortunately not. When the search engines checked your site they found a completely new site. Because of it being new they started the reindexing process, and disregarded all existing information (and therefore also your ranking value). Always use the 301&#039;s, this will inform the search engines that your new site is actually a new version of the old one, but contains (a lot of) the same data.

		<description>Great article, unfortunately pointer #1 came too late for me.  My website was enjoying top rankings the big 4, then I did a redesign and dummy me renamed/deleted old pages.  I do have a backup - If I go back and re-create/rename back to the old pages and redirect would I regain any standing? (assuming all else remained the same)</description>
