		<description>your Python script looks great though I haven&#039;t been able to use it with my personal gmail account.

with personal accounts it&#039;s only possible to import through POP3.

I no longer have my own hosting server (which saves me lots of free time :-)) so I couldn&#039;t easily setup a pop server with some of my old mail.

I just woke up early and decided I needed to find a solution to import some mail from an old XFMail backup I had, RIGHT NOW. I first had to convert it to mbox (used xfmail2mbox.sh, though I had to fix it to make proper mboxes) and then I installed dovecot on my imac (compiled from source)... after some tweaking I was able to have dovecot serve a single inbox to gmail (had to forward pop3 on my router to my imac). 
I have to manually replace the inbox spool file for each folder I want to import, but I don&#039;t need all my old mail (some things from my past I don&#039;t need to remember ;-)).

cool, now I have access to some of my old mails through my gmail account!
